What Blobling is.

An iPhone app for a Hermes Agent server you run yourself. It shows your bots and lets you chat, talk, send files and photos, scan documents, approve what a bot wants to do, watch a bot's computer screen and use routines and memory.

Not affiliated with Nous Research. Hermes Agent is software by Nous Research under the MIT licence; Blobling is an independent app by Hesperan.

What you need

  • Your own Hermes Agent server
  • Reachable over HTTPS, e.g. with Tailscale Serve
  • Sign-in with username and password on that server
  • An iPhone with iOS 26

Get started.

Install Blobling

On your iPhone with iOS 26.

Coming soon to the App Store as “Blobling: AI Agents”

Make your server reachable

  • Run Hermes Agent's web server (hermes serve) with password sign-in.
  • Give it an HTTPS address with a valid certificate. The easiest way: Tailscale Serve.
  • Set that address as Hermes' public URL, so it accepts sign-ins there.

  1. Enter your server's address (https://…) and tap Check Server.
  2. Sign in with the username and password of your Hermes server.
  3. Your bots appear in a row at the top. Before your first message, Blobling shows where your messages go.

Questions.

Blobling can’t connect to my server.
  • Tap Check Server: it tells you whether your server answers.
  • Use an https:// address with a valid certificate. iOS blocks plain HTTP to Tailscale addresses (*.ts.net, 100.x.y.z) and self-signed certificates.
  • Using Tailscale? The Tailscale app must be on and signed in to the same tailnet on your iPhone.
  • Is the Hermes web server running, with password sign-in on, and is its public URL the address you entered?
  • Signed in before, now it fails? Sign out in Blobling and sign in again.
How do I use Tailscale Serve?

Tailscale Serve gives your server an HTTPS address with a valid certificate, reachable only inside your tailnet. Turn on MagicDNS and HTTPS certificates for your tailnet, then on the server:

On the server; 9119 is the port your Hermes web server listens on
tailscale serve --bg 9119

Your address is then https://<server name>.<tailnet>.ts.net; tailscale serve status shows it. Use it in Blobling and as Hermes' public URL. Install Tailscale on your iPhone too.

How do I lock Blobling with Face ID?

In Blobling's settings, turn on Protect with Face ID. iOS checks your face and tells Blobling only whether it worked; the app never sees your face data. Approving a bot's action with Always also asks for Face ID.

Which languages does Blobling speak?

English and German. It follows your iPhone's language; other languages get English. To choose: iOS Settings → Apps → Blobling → Language. Your bots answer in the language you set them up with on your server.

Can I use more than one server?

Yes. Tap your account at the top left, then Add Server. Each server keeps its own sign-in.

Is Blobling made by Nous Research?

No. Not affiliated with Nous Research. Hermes Agent is software by Nous Research under the MIT licence; Blobling is an independent app by Hesperan. Questions about Hermes Agent itself belong to its project on GitHub.

Does Hesperan see my chats?

No. Blobling talks only to your server, and your server to the AI providers you chose there. We run no server for the app and get no data from it. Privacy policy

What does Blobling cost?

Nothing. Your server and the AI providers you use on it may cost money.
